Use of the formula according to Traditional Chinese Medicine:

  • strengthens the psychic aspects of the gallbladder (decisiveness) and the heart Xin (mind and personality)
  • calms the spirit Shen
  • transforms phlegm

Description:

A formula that, in its action according to Chinese medicine, transforms phlegm and calms the heart, is today one of the most frequently used mixtures for supporting the psyche. Historically, it was compiled in 1602 for people who become unpleasantly agitated every time they encounter a new situation or circumstances (insufficiency of the gallbladder, which normally ensures our courage and supports decision-making). At the same time, the heart is often weakened – its soul Shen, because if it were strong enough, we would not be startled in a critical moment and would not have a problem making a decision. The condition manifests as internal restlessness, irritability, heart palpitations, mild swelling of the limbs, and usually a reduced appetite. These people feel similar states whenever they try to solve something (insufficiency of the gallbladder) and quickly lose courage in the face of any difficulties. Long-term, there may also be phlegm, pressure in the chest and epigastrium, and precisely because of this, a loss of appetite, but also nausea or vomiting. They are often tired, and spontaneous sweating also frequently appears.

Ginseng replenishes the energy of both organs, while Rehmannia and spiny jujube nourish the spirit with blood. All these herbs, together with Schisandra, Polygala, Chinese jujube, and turmeric, allow for the proper adjustment of the mind and emotions. Er Chen Tang, the basic formula for transforming phlegm, which is contained in the recipe, together with Polygala and turmeric, will restore our clear judgment. Ginseng, Polygala, and Poria cocos help to restore the proper order.

The mixture is very safe and harmonising, which is why it is also used for children, especially those who suffer from fear and anxiety not only regarding new circumstances, situations, or groups, but also, for example, fear of the dark or night terrors.
