Description:

The main pattern for which this mixture is intended is damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder meridians. This manifests as symptoms of heat above and damp-heat below. Due to various causes, primarily emotions, heat arises in the liver and rises upwards. It manifests, for example, as headaches or painful and red eyes and ears. When the fire spreads to the hypochondrium, pain appears in this area, often with a bitter taste in the mouth. This also includes various inflammations in the digestive tract – e.g., inflammation of the bile ducts, stomach, or hepatitis. When the damp-heat then moves along the meridian to the lower burner, it causes redness and itching in the external genital area, sweating in the groin, cloudy urine, or difficulty urinating. In women, a typical symptom is discharge that has an odour. In general, it is said that damp-heat "has an odour". It is similar with significant sweating in the armpits if the patient has not suffered from it "since forever". Yellowish stains suddenly begin to appear on white clothing.

Gentian, after which the formula is named, can beautifully clear not only heat and damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder meridians, but in cooperation with Scutellaria and Gardenia, it clears the entire triple burner. Other herbs drain dampness, cool, and slightly tonify the blood to protect the good in the organism.

Furthermore, according to health claims approved in the EU, Gentian supports normal digestion and Plantain supports normal digestion, liver function, normal intestinal tract function, and microbial balance, which is extremely important for our immune system as well.

Contraindications:

• the formula is contraindicated in significant states of yin, yang, and/or blood deficiency; it is truly intended for excess states
• the patient should not have cold in the spleen and stomach area, because the formula is very cooling, and in that case, it could cause diarrhoea or vomiting
