Use of the formula according to Traditional Chinese Medicine:

  • clears heat and eliminates toxins
  • clears wind-heat
  • regulates Tai Yang and Yang Ming during wind attacks
  • clears the throat, stops pain

Description:

Wind-heat, for example during an acute attack, enters the respiratory tract through the mouth and nose and settles in the nasopharynx and throat area. There, it causes stagnation and overheating, which manifests as inflammation – swelling, redness, burning and pain, or sharp pain when swallowing. It feels as if we have razor blades in our throat. Plugs on the tonsils and bad breath may also appear – these are already symptoms of fire toxin, which needs to be cleared to prevent complications – for example, a peritonsillar abscess.

The formula contains surface toxin removers and herbs that expel wind-heat from the surface, thereby very effectively influencing the mentioned pathogenic factors. The San Gen in the name refers to 3 roots (Isatis, reed, and kudzu). The first deals excellently with inflammation in the throat, the second clears heat and the irritability caused by it, and kudzu releases the surface and helps to expel the pathogen. Together with the reed, it also moisturises mucous membranes dried out by heat and inflammation, thereby helping their regeneration and the subsidence of pain.
