Beer, much like wine and mead, is one of the oldest fermented beverages.

Evidence of beer brewing dating back 13,000 years has been found in Israel. The inhabitants who lived in the region before the Sumerians were already familiar with beer production. Archaeologists have managed to discover ancient Sumerian recipes from the 3rd century BC. Information regarding beer brewing has also been found among the Assyrians and Babylonians.

The first mention of beer in our country dates back to 993, when beer began to be brewed at the Benedictine monastery in Břevnov. During the Middle Ages, beer brewing developed in towns, and in the 13th century, the first legal standards for beer brewing were issued. At this time, the nobility also began to take an interest in beer brewing.

Beer has a sweet taste and a cooling nature. It improves digestion and helps to support it. It reduces heat in the stomach and corrects the stomach energy so that it descends.
