Papaya is a thermophilic plant that originates from the region stretching from southern Mexico to Nicaragua and Costa Rica. From there, it spread to other tropical countries.

The enzyme papain, which the fruit contains, supports digestion and has anti-inflammatory effects, particularly on the digestive tract and intestines. It activates muscle formation and strengthens the heart and blood circulation. It improves the state of proteins in cells. Papaya is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The seeds contain an abortifacient and may induce miscarriage.

It has a sweet taste and a neutral nature.
