  • spleen

  • lungs (kidneys, large intestine, hand Shaoyin and foot Taiyin Qi layers)

Direction of action:

  • inwards

Effects:

  • warms the middle

  • restores Yang
  • warms the lungs and transforms Tan
  • warms the meridians and stops bleeding (Pao)

Dosage:

  • 1 – 12 g, standard 3 g

Contraindications:

  • must not be used in cases of internal heat from Yin deficiency and chaotic blood flow due to heat
