• liver, gallbladder and pericardium (remedy for shao-yang)

• moves Qi and blood, eliminates wind

• stops pain
• important in the treatment of headaches

Dosage:

• 1 – 10 g, standardly 3 g

Contraindications:

• caution required in cases of fire rising from yin deficiency, severe heat, during pregnancy, in cases of bleeding without signs of stasis, and qi deficiency
